Online Short Selling
You can easily earn revenues in the falling markets by short selling through Tacirler Investment.
Before starting the short selling trades, it will be sufficient for you to have completed the necessary application process, to have minimum 50% equity in your account in the beginning of the trade and to declare in writing or verbally that this is a short selling trade.
Initial equity refers to the cash or securities deposited in cash that is equal to the current market value of the securities to be sold short.
How Can You Apply for Short Selling?
You can submit your limit request by signing the Margin Trading and Short Selling Framework Agreement and personally delivering it to our nearest Investment Center, or you can approve the Margin Trading and Short Selling Agreement Set through the Online Login section and then submit your Short Selling limit request to us online.
What are the limitations on short selling?
Our investors, who desire to turn their predictions that the market will decline into revenues and who have signed the "Framework Agreement for Margin Trading and Short Selling of Capital Market Instruments", can benefit from the opportunity to short sell the stocks in the Short Selling List by agreeing with the conditions described in the agreement. If the open position is not closed in the same day, borrowing and lending will not be possible. Our clients must keep the collateral required for borrowing and lending in their accounts. For this reason, the investors making an application for a short selling limit must also complete the borrowing and lending agreements.
Short Selling is only possible for the stocks and at the relevant times determined by Tacirler Yatırım Menkul Değerler A.Ş.
Tacirler Yatırım Menkul Değerler A.Ş. may impose an amount limitation on the basis of stocks.
Price Limit: It is possible to place a short selling order at any price within the price limit for the stocks in the Stars Market and Main Market in the Stocks Market. BİST reserves its right to make adjustments regarding the acceptance of the Short Selling orders.
